It Takes 5 Billion Years To See Every Planet In ‘No Man’s Sky’

No Man's SkyHello Games’ No Man’s Sky has been receiving quite a bit of hype ever since it was announced due to its unique gameplay and visuals. In the game you have the ability to explore the near-infinite bounds of space, with each planet being unique from the last.

Every game has to have a limit, right? Well, sort of. In an interview with IGN, Hello Studios’ co-founder Sean Murray said that it would take approximately 5 billion years to see everything in the game.

Yup, that’s a pretty long time.

No Man’s Sky is being developed for the PlayStation 4 and PC and is set to be released sometime next year.

Chariot

Frima Studios Announces Next Game 'Chariot'

Frima Studios has revealed that the next game they will be releasing is a co-op platformer called Chariot. Currently a PlayStation 4 exclusive, the game requires you to guide a chariot through underground physics-based stages. Though co-op is recommended, the studio claims that going solo is available, as well.

The story is about a princess taking her father’s remains to a resting place with the help of her fiance, but her father’s ghost keeps insisting on looting treasure to bury with him. This means that you will constantly have to decide when to venture off the beaten path in search of the loot that the princess’ father is raving about.

Although an official release date has yet to be announced, Frima Studios is eying a Fall release.

Dragon Age

'Dragon Age: Inquisition' Classes Detailed

BioWare has unveiled class descriptions for their upcoming RPG Dragon Age: Inquisition. The 3 classes are Warrior, Mage and Rogue, and they each have 3 specializations. However, BioWare has only revealed one specialization per class.

The following details each class and its specializations:

Warrior

Battle-hardened and masters of close combat, warriors are pivotal to any group entering battle. As front-line fighters, they absorb the brunt of opponent attacks, steal enemy focus, and create an opening for deadly ranged assaults from other classes. While some warriors prefer visceral, sweeping damage, many are silverite-clad bulwarks, weathering any blows they don’t deflect with their shields.

Champion specialization

Champions are defenders and protectors, and when a warrior trains in the champion’s tradition, he or she becomes unstoppable. Champions use their armor, weapon and awareness to shrug off incoming attacks while holding critical positions on the battlefield and protecting allies in the process.

Mage

Those who can tap into the raw energy of the Fade and block the whispering temptations of demons are truly exceptional. When they turn that mental focus onto the field of war, they can be truly terrifying opponents. Rains of fire, walls of ice, or even the ability to heal allies make up a mage’s toolkit. Most employ considerable skills rendering foes not only weakened, but also vulnerable to physical attacks, setting up opportunities for their teammates to exploit.

Knight Enchanter specialization

Among the Circles of Magi, only a few mages have the strength of will necessary to focus their energy inward. Wrapped in protective magics and wielding blades of arcane force, the Knight Enchanters are rare, but inspiring sights as they lead the charge into enemy ranks.

Rogue

Armed with bows, daggers, and any number of dirty tricks, the rogue’s primary focus is damage: tearing foes down one at a time with systematic efficiency. Rogues commonly use a mixture of stealth and mobility to reach positions of advantage, be it a sniper’s perch away from enemy blades or behind an unsuspecting mage. Deadly and resourceful, rogues can tip the balance of any strategic assault.

Artificer specialization

Intricate mechanisms are the core of the artificer’s craft: Deadly traps; Distracting contraptions; Marvels of engineering turned to deadly purpose. If an artificer is standing at the far end of a seemingly innocuous stretch of the battlefield, you should find another path. If he or she is smiling? Best just to hope your affairs are in order.

Mercenary Kings

News Judgment: 'Mercenary Kings' Free On PlayStation Plus Due To Sales Concerns

Developer Tribute Games recently made their newest game Mercenary Kings available for free on PlayStation PlusInstant Game Collection. This was a surprise to many, as this came just one week after the launch of PC version that was selling well.

The programmer Jean-Francois Major said the following on the decision:

“The decision was particularly tough because I knew the sales we had during Steam Early Access.”

He goes on to say:

“maybe we could’ve done better on our own, but the PS Plus deal was a safe bet.”

Condemn (OR) Condone:

I think this was a risky but really smart move on the developers part. They are getting some money from the contract that they signed with Sony, but they are also going to get a big audience for the game due to the fact that it’s free. That’s the kind of move that pay off big time somewhere down the road, and the fact that the game is good is a win for everybody. Judgment: Condone

The Game Marketing Awards took place last night, which annually awards the greatest video game marketing. Of those winners, the one that took home Outstanding TV Ad was PlayStation 4‘s Perfect Day.

You can check out a full list of all the winners right here and the Perfect Day ad below. [youtuber youtube=’http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0d9d-cdxhk’%5D

Condemn (OR) Condone:

I love this ad, so I’m glad it beat out the competition. The mixture of the heart-warming lyrics and the viscous rivalry that is going on at the same time is genius.

Dragon Age: Inquisition

'Dragon Age: Inquisition' Release Date + Inquisitor Trailer Revealed

A release date and new gameplay trailer for BioWare‘s upcoming RPG Dragon Age: Inquisition have been revealed. The game will come out for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC on October 7th, and the Inquisitor trailer shows off some epic story action. Check out the trailer below.[youtuber youtube=’http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uO2h4qUNJ60′%5D

The trailer also shows that if you pre-order the game you’ll get the Flames of the Inquisition pack, though it wasn’t revealed exactly what this pack consists of.

Condemn (OR) Condone:

Good to know that this game is definitely coming out this year and the trailer is pretty flippin’ choice, if you ask me! I would not be ashamed in admitting that I condone all parts of this news, so go ahead and shout this info to the masses.

A Release Date For Transistor Has Been Revealed…

The Scoop:

The sci-fi action RPG from developer Supergiant Games, Transistor, has been given an official release date of May 20th in North America and May 21st in Europe. The game is set to release on PlayStation 4 and PC.

The game will cost $19.99 when purchased through the PS Store, but is currently unavailable for any kind of pre-order. Apparently, the developers are working on it. Slackers.

Condemn (OR) Condone:

I will say that the game sounds very interesting. You control a young singer named Red who comes into possession of a mysterious sword called Transistor that has some form of intelligence. Sounds whacky, out there, and that’s why a weirdo like me is interested in it. I’ll be reserving judgment due to it only being a release date.

News Judgment – Sony's Project Morpheus Virtual Reality Headset

Rumors have been swirling for a while now that said that Sony had been developing their own virtual reality headset that would supposedly blow the Oculus Rift out of the water, and now the rumors have been proven true!

Sony unveiled what that are calling Project Morpheus at this year’s GDC event. The headset contains a white headband and black screen that also wraps a bit for peripheral vision, with the edges of the device giving off a blue LED glow.

PlayStation head Shuhei Yoshida said the following about the device

“We believe Morpheus will further enhance the world of PlayStation 4 with seamless integration with PlayStation Camera, DualShock 4, and PS Move.”

Morpheus2

The device will apparently have high-end specs in regards to video and audio, and I can say that from the pictures I have seen it looks a lot more classy than the Oculus Rift.

Condemn (OR) Condone:

It’s official: The Oculus Rift creators are crapping themselves right now. With news that developers are already on-board with the new device and the fact that it is backed by Sony means this thing has a lot of power. I’m still not sure how this whole virtual reality thing will pan out, but it looks like Sony has some faith in where it can lead.
