It’s been a long time coming, but the highly-anticipated PlayStation 4 racer DriveClub now has a release date. The game will be released on October 7th.

SCE Wordwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida said the following about the game on PlayStation.Blog:

“We planned for the game to be ready for early 2014 and are committed to delivering on our ambitious promise of creating a truly innovative, socially connected racing game. What DRIVECLUB offers has not been previously achieved in this category, and, because of this, the team needed more time to give you the game you’re waiting for.”

The announcement was accompanied by a trailer that you can check out below. [youtuber youtube=’http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJqsLKS23YM’%5D

Sony Claims Driveclub Is Moving Right Along…

Sony is claiming that their upcoming PS4 racer Driveclub is making spectacular process, even though the production hit some bumps and delays along the way.

This is a snippet of the statement that Sony issued to Videogamer:

“The progress being made on the game is spectacular, so we’re looking forward to sharing an update on development, release date and videos of the game in action in the weeks to come. We thank you for your patience and assure you, it will be worth the wait.”

Time will tell whether or not this game is worth the wait, but I’d be lying if I didn’t say the concept is intriguing.
