Peter Molyneux, the creator of Fable and Godus, has gone on record saying that this vibrant time for indie games will not last.
Molyneux said the following in an interview with CVG:
“What I’d say is, enjoy this time, because it won’t last. Don’t think we’re going to be all indies for the next five years–these things go in cycles, just like in the music business. You have a time where punk is big, and then you have times like now where everything is manufactured. Enjoy this time, because inevitably it will only last a short period.”
Condemn (OR) Condone:
I agree with ‘ol Molyneux. Just like everything else, things happen in cycles, and eventually people will tire of certain things or the pool will just become to overcrowded. Sure, indie devs have more of a voice now, but that means that there will be much more competition which will inevitably lead to things being lost in the shuffle.
Judgment: o(R)
NOTE:
The judgments are the following:
Condemn – Hate it | (O)r – Dislike it | (OR) – Indifferent | o(R) – Like it | Condone – Love it
