Master Chief’s entire story thus far may be getting a next-gen overhaul, if reports are to be believed.
Engadget is the one reporting the news and claims that the collection will contain Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3 and Halo 4. Being the Master Chief collection, it is likely that Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach won’t be included. However, I find it kind of strange that Halo: Reach wouldn’t get some kind of remaster, due to the fact that it’s considered one of the finest entries in the series.
This is all supposedly being done to refresh gamers on Master Chief’s entire story leading up to Halo 5: Guardians. Still, this is just a rumor and there have been no reports of a remaster of several Halo games in one package before.
I’ve been keeping my fingers crossed for a Halo 2 Anniversary re-release, but if this is true then it looks like that will be thrown in with all the other games. Remasters of the others would be cool, but all i’m really interested in is reliving the phenomenal multiplayer that Halo 2 championed back in 2004.
