EA has just revealed that many games will be going offline due to the closing of gaming website GameSpy. They will all shut down on June 30th and although the company is looking into other ways to keep some of these games afloat, there are no solid solutions or plans that have been proposed.
The company said the following in an update on their website:
“Since GameSpy’s announcement, our teams have been working to evaluate options to keep services up and running. Unfortunately, due to technical challenges and concerns about the player experience, we do not have a solution at this time. Online services for EA games on the GameSpy platform will be closed down at the end of June.”
Some of the games that will be effected by this are Battlefield 2, Crysis 2 and Star Wars Battlefront. For a full list click right here.
