Many fans were seriously bummed when it was announced that CD Projekt RED’s The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was delayed to February of next year, but now we have more information that discusses why that delay ultimately happened.
Speaking with Power Unlimited, level designer Miles Tost said the following:
“Essentially we get one shot to do The Witcher 3 right [and] we could have released the game this year but we wouldn’t be satisfied with the result and fans wouldn’t be as well. The additional time that we have is really something that we use for polishing and not for creating new content because that is mostly done.”
The Witcher series is loved by both fans and critics, so it’s no wonder that the developers want to spend as much time as they can on the game to ensure that it loves up to the hype that is unquestionably surrounding it.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is being developed by CD Projekt RED for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. It is currently looking at a February 2014 release window.
