The popular war FPS known as Battlefield 4 had a lot of issues at launch, but over time the developers have slowly-but-surely been tweaking and adding things that players have wanted from the get-go. One thing that gamers have been asking for is the ability to join a squad with friends, and now that is becoming a reality.
The developers are introducing what is known as the Squad Join function, which lets up to 4 players join together. Your group stays together through several rounds and will be available on the maps Conquest, Obliteration, Rush and Domination. It is currently in beta phase, but will be launching fully with the Dragon’s Teeth DLC that is due out this summer.
DICE talked about the new mode on the Battlefield blog, saying the following:
Connecting and playing with your friends has always been a central aspect of the Battlefield multiplayer experience. This is something we know our fans have been asking for – and something we wish we could have provided at launch – so we are now happy to present the first iteration of Squad Join.”
Battlefield 4 is developed by DICE and released on October 29th, 2013 for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
