The Xbox One Version Of 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' Has Disappeared

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theaters very soon, and of course there is a video game version coming out that will be cashing in on that fact. However, it has just been revealed by Activision that the Xbox One version of the game is now TBD.

Activision said the following to MCV:

“We want to inform you that we are revising our release plans for ASM2 on Xbox One. When and whether ASM2 is released on Xbox One is TBD.”

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is still coming out for the 3DS, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii U and Xbox 360.

[UPDATE]  GameSpot reached out to Activision and got the following reply:

“We are working with Microsoft in an effort to release The Amazing Spider-Man 2 video game on Xbox One. Currently, the game will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii U, Nintendo 3DS and the PC on April 29, 2014 as previously announced.”

Condemn (OR) Condone:

This is *very* interesting. It doesn’t make any sense for the Xbox One version of the game to be cancelled so late in the development cycle. Some are saying it’s because Sony is the producer for the movie, but then why would it still release on the 360? Interesting… very interesting.
