Gearbox has made the announcement of a brand new Borderlands game, though it definitely isn’t the one that fans were expecting. Instead of Borderlands 3 being announced for next-gen consoles, Gearbox has revealed a game called Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is coming out later this year for last-gen consoles. The game is being developed by 2K Australia.
What the heck does pre-sequel mean, exactly? Well, the game will take place after the events of Borderlands 1, but before the events of Borderlands 2. Hence, pre-sequel!
In Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, you will not roaming the lands of Pandora, instead you will be on the surface of the planet’s satellite. That’s right – this time around you will be dealing with moon-physics.
Who will you be controlling in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel? None other than Borderlands 2 Handsome Jack. Apparently, this will document Jack’s rise to power with the four new player characters Nisha, Athena, Wilhelm and the iconic Claptrap!
Condemn (OR) Condone:
Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel sounds like it checks all of the boxes of what I love about the Borderlands world. Handsome Jack was a big reason why I felt Borderlands 2 was even better than the original, and it is very exciting to learn that we will be able to learn more from his world. Add to that the fact that we’ll be exploring a completely different type of environment with low gravity and zero atmosphere and this becomes one of my most anticipated games of the year. My judgment is Condone.
