Reserved Judgment – PlayStation Camera Selling Lots Thanks To Twitch

The PlayStation Camera was considered by many to be a disposable peripheral for the PlayStation 4, as not many games even support it. Well, the things are selling like hot cakes anyway, and it is all thanks to Twitch.

It turns out that a lot more people are broadcasting themselves via the PS4’s Twitch feature, and the PlayStation Camera is what allows them to do that. The president of PlayStation’s Worldwide Studios said the following to Polygon:

“It was a total miscalculation by our marketing guys. Using the camera to broadcast yourself is much, much more fun then they thought and they didn’t quite get it.”
