The man who was a big part in bringing Castlevania: Symphony of the Night to the gaming world, Koji Igarashi, has decided to leave Konami.
Igarashi left the studio in order to start something new that his fans will love. He said the following to IGN:
“I’ve decided to break out on my own to have the freedom to make the kind of games I really want to make — the same kind I think fans of my past games want as well. Leaving Konami was a big decision, and not one I took lightly – I’ve spent my entire career there, made many friends, and had a lot of great opportunities – but I hope all the gamers and fans who have supported me in the past will join me in being excited about what comes next. Wish me luck!”
Condemn (OR) Condone:
As a huge fan of Symphony of the Night and the Castlevania series in general, this is a huge bummer. However, it sounds like he has some ideas of his own that he feels can’t be done with Konami, so hopefully whatever it is turns out well. Still, as a Symphony of the Night fan, I am in pain!
