The release of Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is upon us, and even though Donkey Kong will be getting the spotlight once again, it’s his sidekick Diddy Kong who is making news today.

Tropical Freeze producer Masahiro Sakurai has announced that Diddy will be the 24th playable character in Super Smash Bros. for both Wii U and 3Ds. He also notes that Diddy’s flexibility has been increased for this game, making him even more quick and nimble. If you’re a speed player, then Diddy is the one for you.

There is no official release date for Super Smash Bros. on Wii U or 3DS, but it is expected to hit sometime later this year.

Condemn OR Condone: Diddy was actually really fun to play as in the previous game, thanks in part to his pistols. Getting him again and even faster this time is cool in my book.
