Assassin's Creed Unity

New Assassin's Creed Unity Trailer Speaks Of An Uprising

Ubisoft will be releasing not one, but two new Assassin’s Creed games this year, although Assassin’s Creed Unity is definitely the one that is getting a heck of a lot more time in the limelight. Unity is the new Assassin’s Creed game that will be exclusive to new-gen consoles, and will be the first game to feature cooperative multiplayer

Now, today Ubisoft has revealed a brand new trailer for the game that features narration that speaks of an impending revolution. The people are oppressed and are willing to take drastic action to turn the tide in their favor, and their symbol of hope is a young master assassin named Arno. This guy basically takes no crap from no one, and is pretty much guaranteed to have about a million people on his sh*t list.

Assassin’s Creed Unity is being developed by Ubisoft Montreal for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, with a scheduled release date of October 28th, 2014.

Rainbow Six Siege

Ubisoft Reveals What Happened To Rainbow Six: Patriots

The Rainbow Six series has been absent for a while now, though with the recent announcement of Rainbow Six: Siege at this year’s E3 the series is finally making a comeback. However, another game called Rainbow Six: Patriots was in development for several years and now has disappeared completely. What gives?

Ubisoft revealed what happened to Patriots and why the focus shifted to Siege in an interview with Rock, Paper, Shotgun. Ubisoft said the following about wanting a next-gen experience:

“To be completely transparent, I worked on Patriots – on Rainbow Six for three-and-a-half years – and Patriots was old-gen. Xbox 360 and PS3. Next-gen consoles were just around the corner, and we were like, ‘OK, we want to also have a next-gen experience. What can we do for that?’

He goes in to reveal that last-gens limitations ultimately solidified their decision to switch gears:

“We were trying stuff out with destruction technology, and we realized destruction really changes the game. We tried to see how it could fit with old-gen, but it just didn’t work out. So for us it was just a better solution to clean the slate, reset, and make what’s best for the players.

My Judgment:

I personally have no problems with this decision at all, because Rainbow Six: Siege was one of my favorite reveals of this year’s E3. It’s a shame that a game that was in development for so long will probably never see the light of day, but the fact that their new focus looks so promising  more than makes up for it.

Far Cry 4 Dudes

Far Cry 4 Gameplay Video Shows Off Elephant-Fueled Destruction!

Gamers will be getting another taste of the Far Cry series at the end of this year with Far Cry 4, which had a pretty dang impressive showing at this year’s E3. Thanks to a gameplay video released by PlayStation Access, we have now been given another glimpse of how insane this game is shaping up to be.

In the video, we get a semi-gameplay commentary about a scenario involving the protagonist and an elephant. Essentially, you are able to mount an elephant and go stomping through the village as you either pick off enemies from the top of your own personal Dumbo or let Dumbo stomp, lift and throw the baddies on its own. Hell yes.

The video is freakin’ nuts, so please check it out below. [youtuber youtube=’http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J6I8Tlmr0RM’%5D

Far Cry 4 is releasing for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on November 18th.

My Judgment:

My ticket was already sold on this game, but then they went ahead and added freakin’ elephants to the equation and now I’m beyond ecstatic. My elephant is going to demolish *so many things*…

Beyond Good & Evil

Beyond Good & Evil 2 Director Teases Jade's New Look

The director of Beyond Good & Evil 2 revealed a truly exciting piece of art during a livestream with the Rayman Legends team. When a fan asked about the status of the long-in-the-making Beyond Good & Evil 2, Michel Ancel revealed a piece of concept art that shows that the development definitely moving along.

The picture he showed was concept art of a new design for the game’s protagonist Jade, and that image can be viewed below.

Jade

Though Beyond Good & Evil 2 still does not have an official release date, the game is being developed for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Wii U and PC.

Condemn (OR) Condone:

In all honesty, I think this is a step up from Jade’s original design in Beyond Good & Evil. It seems more natural and feminine compared to her get-up in the first game, though that’s not to say her design in the first game was bad. Hopefully this picture will actually lead to something over than aggravation due to no new information.

Watch Dogs

Watch Dogs Releasing Later In The Year On Wii U

Watch Dogs

The highly-anticipated open-world action adventure game Watch Dogs is set to come out this spring on all current home consoles, but for a while we did not know whether the Wii U version was coming out at all. Games of this type tend to not sell as well on Nintendo’s systems, due to a smaller fan-base and the Wii U’s typically more family-friendly software.

However, now we know thanks to Ubisoft’s investor call that Watch Dogs is still being released on the Wii U, but it will not be releasing at the same time as on other platforms. Continue reading
