Sonic’s latest adventure, called Sonic Boom, has finally been given a release date. The 3DS version is called Shattered Crystal and is coming out on November 11th, while the Wii U version is called Rise of Lyric and is coming out on November 18th.
The Sonic Boom games marks a huge departure from the Sonic formula, as neither game is being developed by Sonic Team. Shattered Crystal is being developed by Sanzaru Games, while the Rise of Lyric is being developed by Big Red Button.
It’s interesting that these titles will be exclusive to Nintendo platforms, but I’m still really worried about how their overall quality will turn out. The Sonic series has been more misses than hits, and the fact that these games will supposedly line up with a kids TV show doesn’t exactly spark confidence.
