New Prince Of Persia Game In The Works?

It’s been a while since we heard from the ol’ Persian Prince, but according to a new report Ubisoft might be in the midst of bringing him back into the fray. What’s most surprising about this report, however, is that the game is being developed in 2D.

The report from french website Le Portail du Jeu Video says that the game will use the same the same techniques of the last Rayman game, meaning a 2d plane with a 3D rendered environment and character models.

If this ends up being true then that will be a truly ballsy move on developer Ubisoft. Though Prince of Persia got its start as a 2D platformer back in the day, many would agree that his prime time was when he was brought to the 3D realm. However, Ubisoft has found massive success with bringing Rayman back into the second dimension, so I can’t exactly write this one off just yet.
