Xbox One's April System Update Is Live

The new system update for the Xbox One is now available right now, Microsoft has reported.

The update will automatically fly into your console (that explains why mine randomly turned on) at some point today, and is set to bring some welcome fixes to the table.

The main fix that most will be looking forward to is the return of friend notifications on Xbox Live. After you get the update, you will  be able to see when your friends sign on and when they start playing a game. Other than that, there’s new progress bars displaying status of apps and game saves, the ability to manually search for updates and the addition of 50Hz Blu-ray output.

Condemn (OR) Condone:

This is a pretty decent update for the system. I almost entirely forgot about the friend notifications popping up, but now that I’ve been reminded of the fact that they weren’t there, I miss them. Sure, sometimes you would get the notification 5 times in a row, but for the most part it was cool to see what your friends were up to in the gaming world.
