50/50 Chance For A Sequel To The Last Of Us

The Last Of Us

The chances are that you’ve probably heard of a game called The Last of Us by now. The survival-horror game won many game of the year awards last year, and fans have been dying to know if a sequel will be made. Well, we have an answer… kind of.

Naughty Dog‘s Neil Druckmann took to Reddit recently in which he answered many fans’ questions about The Last of Us’ future. One such question about a potential sequel to The Last Of Us garnered the following response from Druckmann:

“If you’re asking about a sequel… right now I’d say it’s 50/50.”

Well, I guess that settles that. I’ll go ahead and set up my pre-order from THANKSFORTHEINFOJERK.COM

I will give him credit for jokingly answering what a sequel would consist of if it was ever made:

“There are clickers as big as buildings. Also you have lots of new gadgets and weapons (more lasers!). Oh and Ellie can now control the infected with her new powers. We’d also probably dive into the government conspiracy of creating a secret weapon that broke loose and that’s how the outbreak started. There’s probably a shadowy secret agency in all this that you find out Joel has been a member of this whole time (that’s why he came home late in the prologue!)”

That is absolutely hilarious, not only because it is entirely cliche but because it also goes against everything that made The Last Of Us great. His answer to this question might even be a damn good reason why a sequel to The Last Of Us *shouldn’t* be made. Where the original game wrapped up so nicely and offered a unique vision, a sequel good potentially compromise all of that.

Condemn OR Condone: I don’t like when I get an answer that isn’t an answer at all. Still, if you really don’t know (which I think he does) then I guess you have no other option.
