Microsoft has announced that they will be releasing a media remote for Xbox One next month, for those of you out there who don’t want to speak to your TV and would rather just press a button. Yknow, the more easy and convenient way.
Microsoft describes this new remote in the following message:
“Releasing across Xbox One markets worldwide in early March, the Xbox One Media Remote lets you control video playback for Blu-ray movies and streaming video on Xbox One. Additionally, there are dedicated Back and OneGuide buttons. The OneGuide button provides one-touch, quick access to your favorite TV shows and movies through the Xbox program guide. This simple, yet powerful remote is designed to help you listen, watch and switch among experiences instantly. The Media Remote can also control TV/Receiver power and volume through Kinect, which uses IR blasting to send signals to your TV and/or receiver.”
The Xbox One Media Remote will retail for $25 and will be released in early March.
Condemn OR Condone: I think Microsoft is starting to realize that the revolutionary Xbox One isn’t as revolutionary as they were expecting. Voice command isn’t anymore convenient then simply holding a remote and pushing a button, and the Media Remote will allow you to control everything without having to have a conversation with a TV screen. Who the hell wants to have to talk loudly and clearly just to do something simple like opening and menu? Not this guy.
