In an exclusive interview with Game Informer, Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima has revealed some new information about the upcoming installment in the franchise, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
The interview runs nearly 8 minutes and goes into detail about Metal Gear Solid themes such as loss of limbs, where this game lines up with other entries in the series (such as Peace Walker) and the gameplay differences compared to previous titles. Hideo Kojima remains very tight-lipped throughout much of the interview as he does not want to spoil anything, but enough questions are asked that put some interesting new ideas on the table, such as the gaps between Big Boss and Solid Snake’s stories possibly being filled in this game.
Although no huge reveals are made (of course), there are a lot of insights to the gameplay of both Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain. Kojima notes that the gameplay between the two games may feel slightly different, but that is mostly due to the size of both games. The Phantom Pain is a game that will give the player a lot of options and has a very expansive world, but Ground Zeroes is a prologue to that game and thus is much more limited in what it can do.
