The Home-run bat is an item that is feared by all in the Super Smash Bros. universe, so when game director Masahiro Sakurai announced on Miiverse that the bat is back no one really batted an eyelash.

BUT!

What people weren’t expecting was this famous bringer of doom to have an all new look. In previous installments in the series, the home-run bat looked like a traditional MLB bat that you would see on TV, but not this new version! As you can see in the picture above, The bat is now black and has a fancy handle, and when you make contact with another player their freakin’ eyes bug out!

Super Smash Bros. will be coming out on both Wii U and 3DS some time this year, but no official release date has been set.
