Last year the indie fighter Skullgirls was taken down from both PSN and XBLA after game developer Lab Zero ended its business relationship with publisher Konami.

Now, just a couple of months later, Lab Zero is reporting that Skullgirls will be back on PSN on February 11th and XBLA “As soon as possible” with a new version of the game called Skullgirls Encore.

The good news for people that already purchased a copy of the game is that you will be getting this updated version for free. Skullgirls Encore marks several notable improvements over the original game, which you can find right here.

The game is a 2D fighting game that brings a cartoony art-style and mixes it with a fighting formula similar to that of Street Fighter.
