The 4th numbered installment in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, has been confirmed by Ubisoft to be a launch title for both PS4 and Xbox One. Ubisoft game director Ashraf Ismail broke the news to ElderGeek in an interview.
The Xbox 360 and Ps3 versions of the game will launch on October 29. Xbox One is expected to launch this November, while PS4 only has a release window of holiday season, so it definitely looks like the next gen versions of the game will be coming at least a few weeks later.
I think that’s really cool news, as the Assassin’s Creed franchise has continually released solid games, and it will be sweet to kick off the next generation with a new installment in a great series. I know there has been concerns about how quickly they have been pumping out the games, and some were less than impressed with Assassin’s Creed III, but the upcoming sequel looks awesome and definitely shows that the creators are focused on bringing new experiences for the franchise. But hey, that’s just my couple-a pennies!
