New Super Luigi U?!

New Super Luigi U

shhAn announcement was made during the latest Nintendo Direct episode saying that a Luigi-themed New Super Mario Bros. U, called New Super Luigi U, is coming soon. The game will be available to download from the Wii U eShop on June 20 for $20, and  the retail release date is August 25 for $30. You will not need New Super Mario Bros. U to play this new game.shh

What we know so far about this game is that it is a complete reworking of New Super Mario Bros. U, with every level being updated. Hopefully that means each level is being completely redesigned, because that would be pretty lame if it just ends up being Luigi running through the same levels with a different coat of paint.shh

This will continue what Nintendo has dubbed The Year of Luigi, as this year a slew of Luigi-themed games are being released. Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, came out recently and got very good reviews. I find it interesting that Nintendo suddenly has such a big interest in a character that has been around for many years now. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that they have had a very weak game line-up, so they are trying to make up for it by shoving Luigi down our throats. Curse you Nintendo, and your cheap schemes to make quick money…shh
