In a surprising turn of events, it has been revealed that the legendary Paul McCartney has collaborated on the score and wrote the theme song for Bungie’s upcoming online FPS Destiny.
The score was composed over 4 years in New York, Los Angeles and Abbey Road Studios with Marty O’Donnell and Mike Salvatori. O’Donnell was suddenly fired from Bungie this year, which has lead to some controversy between the two camps.
McCartney also penned the theme song for the game, which was recorded with a 120-piece ensemble at Abbey Road. The orchestra was conducted by Giles Martin, who is the son of the renowned Beatles producer George Martin.
Destiny is set to be released on September 9th on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
