The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Release Date Revealed

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt had the unfortunate delay hammer smashed on it recently, pushing it from this fall to sometime in February of next year. Now, developer CD Projekt Red has announced that the game will be released on February 24th, 2015.

A new pre-E3 trailer was released that shows off new characters that will be appearing in the latest iteration of the Witcher. You can check out that video below. [youtuber youtube=’http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HtVdAasjOgU’%5D

Hitman Concept Art

Picture Judgment… Next Hitman Concept Art

It was just revealed by Hitman developer IO Interactive that the next Hitman game will not be coming to E3, but that hasn’t stopped them from releasing the first image of the game.

In regards to the no show at E3, IO said the following:

“We’ve seen a lot of people talking about what we might be bringing to E3 this year. We know the worst thing is to hope for something that doesn’t turn up; so we wanted to let you know that our next Hitman is going to be under wraps for a bit longer.

Check out the first image from the game set in Central Europe below.

My Judgment:

While it stinks that we won’t get to see anything at this year’s E3, it’s good to hear that the developers are devoted to getting everything in its right place before showing too much. I really like this concept art, showing an elegant locale that is being stared down menacingly by none other than Hitman himself.

Nintendo

Nintendo Details Digital E3 Events

Nintendo will once again be skipping the E3 stage show in favor of a digital event that will cater directly to their core fans. This is a way to give people who will be attending e3 and those that can’t both a way to get in on the action.

Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime said the following about the decisions:

“We demonstrated last year that we are never afraid to reinvent a proven tactic or to break completely new ground if we believe it will provide the best experience for our fans, followers and partners. So, whether you’re attending E3 in person or joining online, there’s an amazing lineup of games, experiences and events coming your way.”

The following are all of the different events that Nintendo will be holding:

Super Smash Bros. Invitational
2014 will see the arrival of not one, but two new Super Smash Bros. games: Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. To commemorate this occasion, Nintendo is inviting 16 highly skilled Super Smash Bros. players to the NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles to compete in a Super Smash Bros. for Wii U tournament. Thousands of fans in the audience and countless more watching a live stream online will see new Super Smash Bros. characters clash with existing favorites in action for the first time. More important than declaring a winner, however, this event is a celebration of all things Super Smash Bros., and a great way for new and veteran fans to take part in a tribute to this legendary franchise. More information about the 16 invited participants in the tournament, the identity of the announcers, and how fans of the franchise can view the tournament in person and via webcast, will be communicated shortly.

Nintendo Digital Event
Every year, Nintendo looks for the best way to show its games and share its news with fans, media and other key audiences. In 2013, Nintendo decided to forgo a traditional press conference and use a video – in that case a Nintendo Direct – to share its news from E3. The company is building on that approach at E3 2014 with the “Nintendo Digital Event,” a new kind of video program that will reveal and provide further detail about the gaming experiences on the way for Nintendo platforms in 2014 and beyond. The Nintendo Digital Event will air at 9 a.m. PT on Tuesday, June 10.

Nintendo Treehouse: Live @ E3
This year, Nintendo will offer fans a deeper look at Nintendo’s biggest games of E3, with information directly from the source. The “Treehouse,” the Product Development department at Nintendo of America, will provide in-depth game demos live and unscripted from Nintendo’s booth. This new program will be live streamed during all hours of the E3 show. Fans can get settled in, open their browsers and experience the Nintendo games at E3 like never before.

Super Smash Bros. Smash Fest @ Best Buy
In 2013, Nintendo broke new ground by expanding its E3 activities outside of the walls of the Los Angeles Convention Center and letting fans play some of the games being played on the show floor at participating Best Buy stores. The partnership between Nintendo and Best Buy continues in 2014 and will mark the first time around the world that fans have had the opportunity to get their hands on Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.

Nintendo Direct E3 Broadcast Wrap-up

shhoriginal

shhAfter all of the hype and drama surrounding yesterday’s Sony and Microsoft press conferences, it is time to give the microphone to Nintendo. A lot of people seem to have  forgotten about the big N, and maybe that’s because a lot of people don’t consider the Wii U a next-gen console and they the think the name Wii U is freakin’ stupid (which it is). Regardless of the reasons, Nintendo still has things to say about what lies ahead for its new system, and I will be breaking it all down in this post. Continue reading

Sony E3 Press Conference Wrap-up

shhmaxresdefault

shhGoing into this conference, Sony was already ahead of both of its competitors. There was no black cloud over their heads that they had to clear up, and all they really had to do was share a few more things to really make the system a must-have. After watching the conference live, I can now easily say that PS4 is the clear front-runner in the next generation of gaming. Continue reading

Microsoft E3 Press Conference Wrap-up

Xbox-360-E3-2012111

shhMicrosoft‘s E3 2013 press conference has come and gone, and with it comes a slew of gaming and system announcements. They had a lot of controversy surrounding Xbox One leading up to this conference, and they really needed to hit a home run to get people excited about this system again. Was it a home run? Nope, but they did show off footage of some exclusive games that look fantastic. Continue reading
