Drinkbox Studios is best known for bringing the critically-acclaimed Guacamelee to the masses, though judging from this announce trailer their next game is going to be something else entirely.
The new game their working on is called Severed, and follows a girl who wakes up with part of her arm missing. You control her as she explores an open world and uses severed enemy body parts to use in combat and get stronger.
Lead designer Greg Lesky said the following to Destructoid about the game:
“The high-level structure is kind of like a Mega Man structure I would say. You can go down one path, or you can try going down one path and if it’s not really working you can go down a different path and try that path, get the new piece of armor or whatever it is from that path, and then try that first path again you’ll be more upgraded.
Severed is set to come out sometime in 2015. Although platforms haven’t’ been announced, it is expected to release on mobile devices and handheld devices due to its gesture-based gameplay.

Condemn (OR) Condone:
OK, so you have the Guacamelee devs and a game about a chick that uses severed limbs as weapons? How can this go wrong? I give this sweet premise and the freaky trailer a Condone.
