The Borderlands series continues to roll on thanks to an upcoming prequel / sequel ingeniously dubbed Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, though this time Gearbox is collaborating with 2K Australia to bring you the goods.

The big news, however, is that the game now has an official release date and new trailer showing off all of the new mayhem like low-gravity and new vehicles that you can indulge in. The game’s official release date is October 14th, 2014 for North America and October 17th, 2014 for everyone else.

Take Two Reveals That 'Borderlands 2' Has Shipped Over 9 Million Units

It’s no secret that Gearbox’s Borderlands 2 has been a smash success that is resulting in a game called Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel! being released later this year, but now Take Two has revealed just how successful it has been.

In Take Two’s recent financial report they revealed that Borderlands 2 has shipped over 9 million units since it first launched in September 2012.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel! is being co-developed by 2K Australia and Gearbox Software for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC and is set for a release in the third quarter of the year.
