Reviews Are Very Positive For Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection

Next week gamers on PlayStation 4 will be able play Nathan Drake’s PlayStation 3 adventures in 1080p/60fps in the form of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection. Of course, the major video game websites have begun publishing their reviews for the game, and they are very positive.

As for what this collection brings new to the table, the aforementioned visual upgrades are accompanied by gameplay enhancements that put the 3 games on more even ground. To make matters even better, it also comes with a beta invite for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.

Scroll down to see how some of the major gaming websites are scoring Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection:

So, if you’ve played the Uncharted games before this is a worthy upgrade, but if you haven’t played them before then this is a must-buy.

This Is Why Uncharted: Golden Abyss Isn’t In The Nathan Drake Collection

The PlayStation 4-exclusive Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection is missing one of Nathan Drake’s best adventures, and that is Uncharted: Golden Abyss. Many have been wondering why the PlayStation Vita game was not making an appearance in the Nathan Drake collection, and now Naughty Dog has revealed their reasoning.

According to community strategist Arne Meyer, they actually were considering adding the game into the collection. Here’s what Arne said during a panel at EGX 2015 last week:

“It was definitely under consideration, because we were trying to see how we could collect all of the Uncharted games, but when we went back and looked at what we were trying to do with the Nathan Drake Collection, we realized that those three games – the trilogy – actually provided a particular narrative arc that led into Uncharted 4. We wanted to keep that as a holistic collection for that reason, and Golden Abyss kind of lives a little bit outside of that.”

While it kind of makes sense, it’s still weird to call a game the Nathan Drake collection and not have it contain all of Nathan Drake’s adventures. I’ve played Golden Abyss and love it, so hopefully they find some way to add it in later on.

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection Graphics Comparison Shows Big Improvements

The first 3 Uncharted games are coming to the PlayStation 4 next month in the form of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, and YouTube channel Digital Foundry is showing it off in a new video.

While the video goes tackles a lot of things, the best moment comes when we get to see the game put side-by-side with the original PlayStation 3 version. Everything looks much more vibrant and detailed, and with the original games still looking impressive to this day that is saying something.

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection launches on October 9 exclusively for the PlayStation 4.

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection Officially Announced

Seeing as Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End was delayed to next year, many have been speculating that Naughty Dog would release a remastered version of the first 3 games in the series to tide people over. Following the leak of the image you can see below, Naughty Dog has now confirmed that the collection is coming this October.

Called Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, this package will not only include Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, but also host a bunch of improvements and additions to each game that the devs addressed via community feedback. Each game will be running at a slick 1080p and 60fps, meaning that this will be the definitive way to play the games.

Not only that, but if you purchase Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection you will get exclusive access to the Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End multiplayer beta. I don’t know about you, but that is one hell of an incentive to pick this thing up!

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection is set to launch on October 7th, 2015 exclusively for the PlayStation 4. Check out the announcement video for the collection below.
