Shin Megami Tensei IV will be receiving a sequel called Shin Megami Tensei IV Final next year, and now Nico Nico Douga has shown some new gameplay footage has been shared that features several different mechanics featured in the game.

Atlus originally announced that Shin Megami Tensei IV Final was not a direct sequel to Shin Megami Tensei IV, and that people did not have to play the first game in order to jump into the new one.
This lead people to believe that the game might feature a brand new cast, though the developer has now revealed that that is not the case. Characters from the first games (Flynn, Jonathan, Walter, Isabeau) will all be appearing in the new game, with Isabeau even joining the new protagonists team.
Not only that, but if you happen to have a save file of Shin Megami Tensei IV on your 3DS you will unlock new items and equipment to be used in Shin Megami Tensei IV Final.

Atlus was running a countdown for something Shin Megami Tensei IV related earlier, but now that the countdown is over we know what it’s all about. They revealed Shin Megami Tensei IV FINAL, which will be a new game set in the same world as IV.
