Quantic Dream’s New PlayStation 4-Exclusive is ‘Detroit’

David Cage’s Quantic Dream have been secretly hard at work on a brand new game for the PlayStation 4, and it happens be based on the Kara demo that was released a few years ago. The game is called Detroit and is about how androids can question our own humanity, which will more than likely lead to some really depressing scenarios!

Here’s what David Cage said about the idea of the game:

“We imagined our world in a near future where androids like Kara would look, speak and move like real human beings. We wondered how we – humans – would react if we were confronted with a new form of intelligence, how androids conceived as machines would be perceived if they started to have emotions.”

Quantic Dream To Reveal Big News Early Next Year

Something great news is coming in January, but the definition of great is currently up for grabs.

Quantic Dream and David Cage are responsible for delivering what many consider to be the most cinematic experiences that gaming has to offer with both Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls. However, the developer was completely silent throughout 2014, with only a brief rumor that their most recent game would be getting a port to the PlayStation 4.

Well, it looks like bigger and better things are planned for 2015, as the developers official Facebook page posted the following message:

“Some great news coming in January!”

Now, this could simply be the announcement of the previously rumored port of Beyond: Two Souls and maybe even Heavy Rain, but I’m personally hoping for news on their first PlayStation 4 title. It’s probably a little too soon for their next game to be coming out, but just hearing about what these awesome people have in the works is more than worth getting excited about.

‘Beyond: Two Souls’ Release Date Announced

Finally, we know when this highly-anticipated game will hit shelves.

Finally, the highly anticipated Beyond: Two Souls release date has been announced as this October 8th. The game is from Quantic Dream and directed by David Cage, who were behind 2010’s phenomenal Heavy Rain. It will be exclusive to the PS3.shh

shhThis is the plot synopsis from PlayStation.com:

In an adventure spanning 15 years of her life, your actions will determine Jodie’s fate as she faces extraordinary challenges, danger, and heartwrenching loss on a journey to discover the truth of who she is. Beyond promises an emotionally-charged journey unlike any video game before.”

The game will be using real-life actors Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe as the lead characters.shh

shhThe website also mentions a GameStop pre-order bonus. If you pre-order the game you will get additional scene DLC and a free upgrade to the special edition. The special edition includes an exclusive steelbook premium packaging, extensive behind the scenes features, a soundtrack, a dynamic PS3 theme and PSN avatar pack.shh

I personally can’t wait for this game to drop, as Heavy Rain was an experience unlike any other. Games have really come a long way, and with Heavy Rain and now Beyond: Two Souls we are seeing them become more and more like interactive movies. It will be difficult for David Cage to top his debut, but from what I’ve seen so far he is certainly on the right track.
