The Free PlayStation Plus Games For December 2015 Are Awesome

Sony typically has a solid lineup of games that they release each month for gamers to download for free, but for December 2015 they have really outdone themselves.

Once again there are 6 games being offered across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, with the company deciding not to match what Xbox did and up their amount of games offered by one. Still, not a big deal because they are still offering one more game than the competition. Plus, it’s a freakin’ solid set of games.

Without further ado, here is the full lineup:

  • Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon (PS3)
  • Freedom Wars (PSVita)
  • Gauntlet: Slayer Edition (PS4)
  • King’s Quest – Chapter 1: A Knight to Remember (PS4)
  • Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken (PSVita)
  • SSX (PS3)

This is a fantastic lineup of games here, with Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, Freedom Wars, King’s Quest and SSX all being great games. I’ve personally never tried the other two, but from the gameplay alone they look like they’re a lot of fun, too. Merry Christmas, indeed!

Sony Is Letting Fans Vote On Future PlayStation Plus Games

PlayStation Plus members get to download several free games each month on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, and the selection of games to download are usually really good. While there are sometimes some games that nobody really cares about playing, for the most part they do a good job of offering something that is on a lot of people’s wish lists.

KNACK

However, PlayStation is looking to tailor to gamers’ wishes even more by allowing them to vote on what the next batch of free games will be. Here’s what SCEA’s John Koller said regarding this new system:

“The game with the most votes will automatically be included in our future free game lineup for PlayStation Plus. If your pick didn’t make the lineup, don’t worry. In the first promotion, PlayStation Plus members can get the runner ups at a discount. We love to listen to our fans – and we’re super excited to launch this promotion.”

This sounds like a pretty good idea to me, though I think the biggest worry is that the collective group of gamers might only vote for the more well known titles like current favorite Knack. Still, it’s a good idea to put discounts on the runner-up games, so the gamers who voted for those ones won’t be left too disappointing. More details will be released soon regarding the promotion, so stay tuned!

Remember Driveclub PS Plus? It’s Apparently Nearing Completion

Driveclub was an absolute wreck when it launched exclusively for PlayStation 4 last year, with more bugs and server issues that made the game basically unplayable. As a result, the initially promised PlayStation Plus version fell by the wayside as the devs tried to salvage the game the shipped in such an atrocious state.

However, Driveclub‘s game director Paul Rustchynsky claims that the game is close to being finished. Asked by a fan on twitter when we would be getting the game, he replied with, “We’re in the final stages of development now.”

The PlayStation Plus version of the game is basically a simplified version of the full game, giving you access to less cars and tracks to race on. However, seeing as this was something that Sony promised they would release they are following through with it. I just don’t see how that many people would get excited over a lesser version of a game that launched and tanked last year. It makes sense as a way to hook people in to buy the full version at launch, but seeing as this is launching many months after the full version I don’t see many people giving a damn.

‘Dishonored’ Available For Free On PSN Next Month

Oops, looks like someone said something they shouldn’t have!

Back when the free PSN games list for March was leaked, we had heard rumors that Sony had been intending to include Dishonored before pulling it at the last minute. Well, as it turns out, the game was actually intended to be released next month, but now the cat is completely out of the bag on that one.

PlayStation Europe made the confirmation recently where they said the following:

“Dishonored is coming to PlayStation Plus (PS3) in April. Sorry for the confusion this month – we pulled the trigger too early!”

So, whatever the full list of free PSN games in April happens to be, we definitely know that one of the games is Dishonored. The game was offered as a free download on Xbox Live last year, though for those who don’t hop to the other side of the fence are definitely in for a good time.

PlayStation Plus Free Games February 2015 Revealed

Another awesome lineup of free games for PlayStation Plus subscribers.

PlayStation has just revealed what free games PlayStation Plus subscribers will be getting for the month of February 2015, and the list is very impressive yet again.

Beginning February 3rd, PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to download Transistor and Apotheon on PlayStation 4, Yakuza 4 and Thief on PlayStation 3, Kick & Fenneck on PlayStation Vita and Rogue Legacy across all 3 platforms.

PlayStation never disappoints with these free games with PlayStation Plus. Transistor appeared on numerous game of the year lists, while Yakuza 4 and Rogue Legacy both have strong followings in their own right. Heck, even Thief is worth a shot if you’re willing to look past the bugs. That Kick & Fenneck though… I don’t know about that one.
