Ace Attorney 6 was recently revealed, and now thanks to the Tokyo Game Show 2015 we have a Japanese trailer to get a taste of what’s to come.
While I have no idea what anybody is saying due to it being in Japanese and all, you can tell that this game has all of the hallmarks of an Ace Attorney game. There’s zany characters, lots of intrigue and a whole lot of OBJECTION!
Check out the Japanese trailer for Ace Attorney 6 below.
The latest issue of Famitsu has revealed that there is going to be a new entry in the main series of Ace Attorney games, for now just referred to as Ace Attorney 6.
Not a whole lot is known about what this game has to offer, but according to Kotaku the game will have faster gameplay mechanics to keep things moving quickly. The game is also set to be playable at on 3DS at the Tokyo Game Show on September 17 – 20.
While I’m unfortunately not too familiar with the Ace Attorney games, I’m glad to know that it’s still going strong. There’s also a prequel game in the works called The Great Ace Attorney, which is set around 100 years prior to the events of the main series and will even contain Sherlock Holmes as one of the characters.
The Art of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Dual Destinies previously had a tentative released date of Summer 2015, but as we inch closer and closer to September it seems like that release window will not be met. However, it won’t be too far past that at all, as the products page on Amazon now lists the book as releasing on September 24th, 2015 in North America. You can pre-order the book right here.
In regards to what this cool little book is all about, it is packed with artwork that is taken entirely from the 3DS game, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Dual Destinies. Some examples of the types of things you can expect to see inside of it include story boards, character sketches, area designs and a lot more behind-the-scenes stuff. The book is being published by Udon Entertainment and is a whopping 240 pages long.
The Phoenix Wright series has been going strong for many years now, with several titles appearing on both the DS and 3DS. There was even a mash-up with another popular DS and 3DS franchise Professor Layton, which was called Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney.
As for the future of the series, a new prequel series has been created called The Great Ace Attorney. The game takes place 100 years prior to the current series and stars an ancestor of Phoenix Wright. The game is taking the opportunity that the time period allows it to add in the iconic detective, Sherlock Holmes. The Great Ace Attorney launched in Japan on July 9th, 2015, though a release in other regions has not been confirmed as of this writing.
The Ace Attorney creator Shu Takumi is working on a brand new Ace Attorney game called The Great Ace Attorney, but has revealed that this one will be set 100 years in the past and will star an ancestor of Phoenix Wright.
Famitsu (via Siloconera) revealed that the game is set during the late 1800‘s and stars a character named Ryunosuke Naruhodo, though it is expected that the character’s name last name will be Wright in the American release.
The Great Ace Attorney is set to release for the 3DS, although an official release date has yet to be announced.
Condemn (OR) Condone:
This sounds like it could be a breath of fresh air for the series. Imagine having court cases and investigations without the technology that exists today. Now *that* would be pretty cool to see!
