Consumer Version Of Oculus Rift Launching Q1 2016

Next year marks the beginning of virtual reality for the gaming industry and the entertainment industry as a whole.

Oculus VR has revealed that the consumer build of Oculus Rift is officially launching in the first quarter of 2016, with pre-orders being available later this year.

While a price or release date was not revealed during today’s announcement, the devs do promise that it will ship with compelling content, a full ecosystem and a fully-integrated hardware and software tech stack that is designed specifically for the Rift.

A Kickstarter campaign began for the Oculus Rift back in 2012, with the company raising over $2 million. However, things skyrocketed from there as Facebook acquired the company for over $2 billion just two years later.
