The Uncharted 4 Multiplayer Beta Is Now Live, Check Out Some Gameplay

The multiplayer beta for Uncharted 4 is now live for those of you out there who purchased this year’s Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection on PlayStation 4.

In order to gain access to the beta, all you have to do is load up The Nathan Drake Collection, go to the game tile that appears on your PlayStation 4’s home screen and then the beta will begin downloading automatically. The beta takes up exactly 7.137 gigabytes of space, so make sure you have the room to install it before you click download.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will launch exclusively for the PlayStation 4 on March 18th, 2016.

The Uncharted 4 Beta Is Around 7GB

The Uncharted 4 beta is nearly upon us, and now Naughty Dog is letting everyone know how much space they will need in order to install and run the client. The client itself will take up around 7GB of storage on your PlayStation 4.

Uncharted 4 multiplayer beta

This information was revealed during a Twitch live stream where the devs went into more detail regarding what fans could expect with the upcoming beta. They also talked about mystical items and sidekicks, which are two new mechanics that are looking to shake up the Uncharted multiplayer formula quite a bit.

The Uncharted 4 multiplayer beta will begin this Friday, December 4th and will last until Sunday, December 13th.

Uncharted 4’s Multiplayer To Contain Microtransactions From The Beginning

Tons of information regarding Naughty Dog’s Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is spilling out thanks to Paris Games Week, though the latest news pertains to the controversial microtransactions.

However, according to the game’s lead multiplayer designer, Robert Cogburn, “Microtransactions will be available at launch, but we’ll have no gameplay items that will be gated through microtransactions.”

Going further, he adds that all gameplay items like weapons, items, and upgrades will be purchasable with in-game money, with microtransactions more than likely being used for aesthetic purchases.

Naughty Dog Will Eventually Add Vehicles To Uncharted 4’s Multiplayer

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will launch next year without vehicles available in the multiplayer, but that doesn’t mean it will stay that way forever.

Robert Cogburn, Uncharted 4‘s lead multiplayer designer, said that vehicles won’t be ready for the game’s launch, but “it is something we’re hoping to tackle in the future.”

Even though the game doesn’t officially launch until next year, buyers of the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake collection will have exclusive access to a multiplayer beta that will happen this December.

Uncharted 4’s Multiplayer Looks Pretty Sweet, Here’s A Trailer

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End‘s multiplayer was shown off a bit during Sony’s Paris Games Week conference, where we also learned how it will be running on PlayStation 4 when it launches next year.

Naughty Dog has confirmed that the multiplayer will run at 60fps and 900p, compared to the singleplayer that will run at 30fps and 1080p. This falls in line with the developer’s previous statement of shooting for 60fps in multiplayer, though sticking with the lower fps to allow for a more cinematic singleplayer.

There are some new mechanics that are being implemented into the game’s multiplayer, which are detailed below:

  • Grappling Hook: This allows you to swing around areas to either cross gaps or even drop down on enemies to deal a powerful blow.
  • Mysticals: Supernatural abilities that give players unique powers, though specific details are slim at this point.
  • Sidekicks: Call in a sidekick to help you out when the going gets tough. They’re AI-controlled and will come equipped with special abilities to change the momentum of a battle in your favor.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will launch exclusively for the PlayStation 4 on March 18th, 2016.
