Amplitude Launching January 2016 For PlayStation 4

The wait for the return of Amplitude is nearly over, as Harmonix has revealed that the official release date for the Kickstarted game is January 5th, 2016.

The news was revealed via a backer update on the game’s Kickstarter page where they announced the game will cost $20. Those who pledged $40 or more during the Kickstarter campaign will get early access to the game on December 23rd. Although the game was announced for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3, there is no news regarding the last-generation version in the update.

A launch trailer was also released with the update, which you can check out directly below.

Rock Band’s Aerosmith Song Pack Two Spans Decades Of Band’s Classic Songs

Aerosmith is one of my favorite bands and is actually the reason I got into music gaming at all back when Guitar Hero: Aerosmith launched in Summer 2008, so it’s always good to hear that more tunes from the band are on the horizon.

Rock Band 4 developer Harmonix has revealed that they are releasing “Aerosmith Pack Two” for the game and previous games in the series, which includes six songs that span decades of classic tunes for the band. I’m especially pumped that the pack includes “Season of Wither”, as it’s one of the band’s earlier songs that you don’t hear about enough and it’s one of my favorites.

You can purchase the entire pack for $9.99 or each song individually for $1.99. Check out all six songs as well as the trailer for the pack directly below.

  • “Cryin'”
  • “Dude (Looks Like A Lady)”
  • “Eat The Rich”
  • “Love In An Elevator”
  • “Rats In The Cellar”
  • “Season Of Wither”

Rock Band 4 $20 More On Xbox One Than PlayStation 4

Harmonix is getting ready to launch the rebirth of the Rock Band series with Rock Band 4, though an interesting bit of pricing information has been released that’s sure to grab attention. The Xbox One version of Rock Band 4 will retail for $80, whereas the PlayStation 4 version will cost $60.

The reasoning for this price difference is that the Xbox One version of the game will come with an adapter that allows players to hook up their old controllers into the new system, such as Xbox 360 guitars, drums, mics, etc.

This isn’t an issue with the PlayStation 4 version, because previous controllers will hook up to the new system without the need of an adapter.

Rock Band 4 will launch for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 6th.

New Batch Of Songs Announced For Rock Band 4

Harmonix has just revealed a new batch of songs for the upcoming Rock Band 4, though this batch isn’t as strong as previous ones. Scroll down for a complete list of the new songs.

4 Non Blondes – “What’s Up?”
The Black Keys – “Fever”
Disturbed – “Prayer”
Duck & Cover – “Knock Em Down”
Eddie Japan – “Albert”
Fall Out Boy – “Centuries”
Halestorm – “I Miss The Misery”
Heart – “Kick It Out”
Heaven’s Basement – “I Am Electric”
Lightning Bolt – “Dream Genie”
Rick Derringer – “Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo”
Rush – “A Passage To Bangkok”
Scorpions – “No One Like You”
Slydigs – “Light The Fuse”
Soul Remnants – “Dead Black (Heart of Ice)”
System of a Down – “Spiders”
White Denim – “At Night In Dreams”

There isn’t a whole lot on here that really grabs my attention like some batches of songs did in the past. It’s also a bummer that they picked “Fever” as the lone song from the Black Keys’ most recent album Turn Blue, when that album’s opening track “Weight of Love” would be an excellent and far better choice for this game. Ah well.
