Free Games Of PlayStation Plus April 2015 Revealed

Not the best month for the service, but there are definitely some sweet games for everyone to check out.

Sony has revealed the free games that gamers will be able to download next month as part of the company’s PlayStation Plus service. As always, everyone will be able to download several free games that span the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, ranging from big hits to indie titles.

The selection this month isn’t quite as strong as previous months for the service, but there are definitely some games here that I will be checking out. Check out the list below:

  • Tower of Guns (PS4/PS3)
  • Never Alone (PS4)
  • Dishonored (PS3)
  • Aaru’s Awakening (PS4/PS3)
  • Killzone Mercenary (PS Vita)
  • MonsterBag (PS Vita)

Dishonored was previously available as a free game via Xbox’s Games With Gold service, though it’s still cool to see that PlayStation-exclusive gamers will be getting it for free, as well. The game was critically-acclaimed when it released a few years ago, though I admittedly missed the boat when it launched.

The PlayStation Vita seems to be the winner of the batch here, as Killzone Mercenary was a very well-received game that undoubtedly plenty of people haven’t tried yet due to the system’s relatively small install base. The system has failed to deliver big name titles like that lately, so playing it will be a welcomed change of pace.

The PlayStation 4’s list of free games is definitely the most tame, though Never Alone is an indie game that caught my eye a few months ago and I have been interested in checking it out since then. It’s a 2D puzzle platformer that is set in the arctic that looks pretty unique, though the reviews for it were pretty mixed when it launched last year. Ah well, I guess I’ll just have to make my own opinion when I try it out!

‘Dishonored’ Available For Free On PSN Next Month

Oops, looks like someone said something they shouldn’t have!

Back when the free PSN games list for March was leaked, we had heard rumors that Sony had been intending to include Dishonored before pulling it at the last minute. Well, as it turns out, the game was actually intended to be released next month, but now the cat is completely out of the bag on that one.

PlayStation Europe made the confirmation recently where they said the following:

“Dishonored is coming to PlayStation Plus (PS3) in April. Sorry for the confusion this month – we pulled the trigger too early!”

So, whatever the full list of free PSN games in April happens to be, we definitely know that one of the games is Dishonored. The game was offered as a free download on Xbox Live last year, though for those who don’t hop to the other side of the fence are definitely in for a good time.

‘Dishonored’ Playable For Free On Steam This Weekend!

Get your Dishonored on!

Steam is bringing the free gaming goodness to everyone this weekend! They have revealed that you will be able to play the stealth-action adventure game that everyone was raving about a couple years ago, Dishonored, for free!

There is a catch, however. The game is free-to-play until 1PM PT, 4 PM ET and 9PM in the UK on Sunday, August 24th. That means if you’re in the middle on some intense stealth action and you find that it is suddenly past the deadline, you must fork over your hard-earned cash to continue. The nerve!

However, your life isn’t completely over if that is the case. Bethesda has reduced the price of the game to just $5 in the US and £2.49 in the UK, meaning that you can get this game for a steal! (Get it? GET IT?)

Dishonored is developed by Arkane Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. It released on October 9th, 2012 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
