Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Has Been Delayed 6 Months

As seems to be the case with every big AAA title, Eidos Montreal has announced that Deus Ex: Mankind Divided has been delayed to August 2016. The game has been delayed 6 months, originally targeting a February 2016 release.

The news was announced via an update on Eidos Montreal’s website, where the typical excuses for every major video game delay were given. Scroll down to read the message they posted:

“As you may have already seen by reading and watching the many previews for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, our aim is for it to be a worthy successor to Human Revolution, and to improve upon that game in every way possible. I know that expectations are extremely high, and we not only want to meet those expectations, but exceed them.

We’re confident and proud of the game so far. However, as we are not playing through the game in full, we can see that it will require more time in post-production for tuning, iterations, and refinement to meet our high standards. In order to achieve this, we need to move the release of the game to August 23rd, 2016.

We are sorry to disappoint you with this news, and also thank you for all of your support and comments. This game is a huge part of our lives, and we don’t want to compromise on its quality.

So please be patient with us a little longer, and thanks as always for your passion and support – through thick and thin. It’s a huge responsibility to work on Deus Ex: Mankind Divided – we know, but also a huge privilege. We’re determined to deliver the best game we can.”

It always amazes me how poorly some of these developers plan development time, as we’re 3 months away from the game’s release and they already know that they need another 9 months of development time.

Square Enix Cancels Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Pre-Order Program

Square Enix has taken the enormous amount of backlash that they got for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided‘s pre-order program to heart, as they have revealed that they have cancelled the program.

In a blog post on posted on the Square Enix website, the company details how they came to the conclusion to cancel the program. Basically, they read many of the overwhelmingly negative comments regarding the program and went back to the drawing board.

So, instead of the pre-order incentives that you get being dictated by the amount of pre-orders that are received, everyone will get everything that each tier of the Augment Your Pre-order program offered just for pre-ordering or purchasing the day one edition of the game.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on February 23rd, 2016.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Release Date Revealed + Augment Your Pre-Order Tiers

Square Enix has revealed the release date for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, the highly-anticipated sequel to the critically-acclaimed Deus Ex: Human Revolution. It will launch on February 23rd, 2016 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

As a pre-order incentive, Square Enix has also revealed what they are calling “Augment Your Pre-Order”, which essentially increases what you get with your pre-order as more pre-orders are purchased. This is being done in tiers, with the publisher letting fans decide what they want from each tier as they unlock. Scroll down for a complete list of tiers and what they have to offer you:

Choose between three Starter Packs that cater to stealth, aggressive or nostalgic players.

  • Intruder Pack – Provides a custom-skinned version of Adam Jensen’s trench coat and pistol with a silencer, laser sight, recoil and accuracy upgrades. Other bonuses include two EMP grenades, five packs of 10MM pistol ammo, 1000 credits and a Praxis point for early augmentations.
  • Enforcer Pack – Includes a custom-skinned version of Adam Jensen’s combat armor and combat rifle with a holosight, reload and capacity upgrades. Players will also receive two HE grenades, five packs of 5.56MM combat rifle ammo, 1000 credits and a Praxis Point for early augmentations
  • Classic Pack – Grants access to Adam Jensen’s iconic combat armor, trench coat and revolver from Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Players will also receive an extra pack of revolver Ammo.

Pick between one of two bonuses that further immerse players into the game world – a digital art book that shows the aesthetic of the game, or a digital OST sampler with six tracks from award winning composer Michael McCann.

Unlock the “Desperate Measures” pre-order mission in which Adam returns to the epicenter of the Ruzicka Train Station explosion and must rely on his augmentations and covert operative skills to unveil the true culprit responsible for the bombing.

Get an in-depth look at the Deus Ex universe with a digital comic book that dives deeper into the game’s global conspiracies, or with a novella that follows iconic characters from Deus Ex: Human Revolution with new and unknown details on their lives.

For the first time in the franchise’s history, if players meet this tier, the game will release four days before the official release date.
