The Halo 5: Guardians Launch Trailer Works Really Well With Muse’s “Knights Of Cydonia”

I’m not always crazy about when actual songs are placed in trailer for video games, with the mixture of Led Zeppelin and Destiny’s The Taken King being a recent one that just didn’t gel for me. I friggin’ love Zeppelin, but the tone of the song and the tone that the game had up to that point were two completely different things.

Now, I’m not saying that Muse’s “Knights of Cydonia” is the perfect match for Halo, but given Halo 5: Guardians’ theme of Master Chief “going rogue” it works pretty damn well. It’s also a heck of a lot better than using a song that Muse has made within the last several years… *shudders*

The trailer itself is action packed and features a heck of a lot of conflict as Chief turns his back on authority to finish what he has to do, and the overall package is pretty sweet. Things are apparently going to be changing a lot with this game, and I just hope that it can keep the series going strong.

New Trailer Released For Halo: The Fall Of Reach Animated Series

A new animated series covering the events of The Fall of Reach novel is coming soon, and now Microsoft has revealed a trailer for it.

The video isn’t too long, but for those familiar with the story it’s exactly what you would expect. The execution might not be great with lack of good voice acting/writing, but The Fall of Reach storyline is one that many Halo fans consider to be the best that the series has to offer. I haven’t read the book, but the game itself definitely features the most emotionally harrowing story of the entire series.

Halo: The Fall of Reach will be watchable via the Halo channel once Halo 5: Guardians launches on October 27th.

Oh Yes, Halo 6 Is Already In The Works

Sure, Halo 5: Guardians may not be out yet, but that hasn’t stopped 343 Industries from already begin writing for it.

Halo 5: Guardians

This, of course, is to the surprise of nobody as the Halo series is a cash cow and shows no signs of slowing down. The game’s director Frank O’Connor spoke with GamesRadar and said that they have done some “serious planning and even some writing,” for Halo 6.

It’s hard to put too much attention on this yet, as Halo 5: Guardians is just around the corner and marks what could be a big shift for the franchise. If that one pans out as well as it has the potential to, THEN I’ll be interested in what’s next for Halo.

Xbox Boss Wants Halo: Reach Backward Compatible On Xbox One

Halo: The Master Chief Collection originally offered fans Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3, and Halo 4 before adding Halo 3: ODST as an apology to fans for the game’s terrible launch. However, that means that the only main Halo game that gamers can’t play on Xbox One is Halo: Reach, a game that many consider the best of the lot.

Halo Reach

While there are no plans yet to get it added to the collection, that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t have a shot at being playable on Xbox One via Backward Compatibility. A fan asked Xbox Boss Phil Spencer on twitter about Halo: Reach making it to Xbox One, to which Spencer replied with, “I’d like to see it come via back compat.”

I’d personally love to see it added to the Master Chief Collection by 343 Industries, as then gamers would have the complete collection prior to the release of Halo 5: Guardians.

Halo Wars 2 Announced, Coming to Xbox One And PC Next Year

Well, here’s announcement that nobody was expecting. At the end of Microsoft’s Gamescom press conference they revealed that Halo Wars 2 is in the works. The game will be coming to both Xbox One and PC in the Fall of 2016.

Halo Wars 2

While no actual gameplay footage was revealed, a pretty cool cinematic trailer was shown to get the ball rolling. There’s a dude being dragged away while shooting at a bad guy, which is pretty much all there is to it. Hopefully more information will be revealed soon so maybe some people can get excited about it.

Halo 5 Multiplayer Trailer Asks Which Side You’ll Choose

A new multiplayer trailer for Halo 5: Guardians was released during Gamescom, which was very dramatic and talked about how important the original game was and how much things are changing.

With Halo 5: Guardians there will plenty of new things being brought to the table, such as new modes, weapons and mechanics. They’re also really pushing the eSports aspect of the community with this one for whatever reason, announcing a Halo 5 tournament happening later this year.
