Destiny Paved The Way For PlayStation Getting Call Of Duty DLC Before Xbox

When it was revealed during Sony’s E3 press conference that PlayStation consoles would be getting all DLC for Call of Duty: Black Ops III before Xbox, the gaming world was unsurprisingly stunned.

Now, thanks to a new interview that PlayStation VP of Publisher and Developer Relations Adam Boyes, some information was finally revealed regarding how this happened.

According to Boyes, it was their relationship with Activision around Destiny that got the ball rolling:

“Well, I think the first thing was we’ve had a great relationship with Activision around Destiny and I’m a huge fan of that.”

So, after forming such a strong relationship with Activision to this day regarding Destiny, Activision eventually invited Boyes and his team to see Black Ops III. After playing it, Boyes was convinced that it was great and wanted to get involved with it.

This means that Call of Duty: Black Ops III will not only have all of its DLC release on PlayStation consoles first, but the game’s beta will also debut on PlayStation before it makes its way to other platforms.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 Launching Later This Year

The Pro Skater series is finally back and will launch on consoles later this year.

It had been teased for a while, but now Activision and developer Robomodo have made it official that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 will launch later this year. This will be the first game in the series since 2002’s Pro Skater 4.

As the name would suggest, Pro Skater 5 is a return to the series’ roots with a focus on the simple yet fun skating gameplay that the series championed in its prime. However, there will be some new things incorporated to spice up the gameplay, such as power-ups and projectiles that can be fired in specific missions.

The cast of skaters will feature both old and new skaters, incuding the likes of Tony Hawk, Nyjah Huston, Aaron Homoki, Ishod Wair, Riley Hawk, Lizzie Armonto, Chris Cole, David Gonzales, Leticia Bufoni and Andrew Reynolds.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 is developed by Robomodo for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and is set to launch by the end of the year.

Guitar Hero Live Announced And Boy Is It Ambitious

The battle of the bands is officially back for 2015, as following Rock Band 4 now Guitar Hero is back with Guitar Hero Live. Like Rock Band 4 it will be launching this fall and will be bringing with it brand new songs to rock out to via plastic instruments.

UNLIKE Rock Band 4 the game really seems to be doing something ambitious with live-action band members and crowds that will react to how you play. Coupled with the Guitar Hero Live mode there is also Guitar Hero TV, which allows you to play songs along with the track’s respective music video.

Also, Guitar Hero Live will come with a redesigned controller, ditching the single row of 5 buttons for the new two rows with 3 buttons. This means that, no matter how many times you’ve played prior games in the series you will have to learn to play these songs in a new way. That should be interesting! Scroll down to see what it looks like.Guitar Hero Live

Guitar Hero Live is developed by FreeStyleGames and published by Activision for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Wii U, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Check out the trailer for Guitar Hero Live below.

Will Guitar Hero 7 Be Revealed Tomorrow?

It looks like Guitar Hero 7 might be officially announced tomorrow.

Activision has uploaded a 16 second video showing a rock band that is about to hit the stage, which claims that things are about to get real. Let’s see… Activision and music games… Rock Band 4 was revealed recently… yeah I have no idea what this could be.

Of course, Guitar Hero would be what many would expect, but wouldn’t it be hilarious if it ends up being some completely unrelated thing? I’m dreaming, but it would still be funny and piss off a lot of people. Check out the teaser below to see what you make of it.

The last Guitar Hero game was called Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock and that release for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii in 2010. That means they’ll of had 5 years to come up with a sweet setlist again… I hope.

Get Ready To Rock, As A New Guitar Hero Might Be Revealed Next Week

Will Guitar Hero come back to give Rock Band a run for its money?

It’s getting heavy in here, as GameReactor is reporting that the return of Guitar Hero could be revealed as soon as next week.

The site reports that invitations to an Activision event that takes place on Wednesday, April 1st in “Hamburg Rock City” have been sent out to German media. This invite allegedly asks invitees to come and “rock the shack with us” at an undisclosed location.

While the game in question is not mentioned in the invite, rumors of a new Guitar Hero gams have been swishing around for a while now. The series’ main competition, Rock Band, announced that it would be coming back just three weeks ago for a release later this year. Sounds like the perfect time for Guitar Hero to come back and make it a battle of the axes!

The last Guitar Hero game was Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock which released in 2010.

Is Tony Hawk Making Another Pro Skater Game With Activision?

Could a return to the pro skater franchise be in the works?

For those who have been keeping up with Tony Hawk video games, you probably already know that it has been a great big ball of disappointment for several years now. What was once a critically-acclaimed franchise that featured some of the best skating gameplay the world had ever seen eventually diminished into less and less interesting endeavors. This all lead to a game called Tony Hawk Ride that featured an actual skateboard peripheral that did not work in the slightest

However, Tony Hawk himself posted something on twitter that is bound to get fans excited. He posted the following:

“I’m currently working with Activision on a console game for 2015 (along with a new mobile game). I think fans of THPS series will be hyped.”

Could this mean that a return to the classic era of Tony Hawk games could be in the works? Who knows, but Tony Hawk has certainly gotten everyone’s attention for what is coming next year.
