Ghost In The Shell: First Assault Launching Next Month On Steam

Next month Steam will be hosting the launch of Ghost in the Shell: First Assault, which is a first-person shooter based on the beloved anime. The game will also receive a closed beta that is coming soon that you can sign up for by clicking right here.

Here’s a snippet of the description for the game from the above trailer:

“Players will advance and master their character with upgrades and unlocks as they succeed in combat. Each character has exclusive attributes that reflect features of the original franchise. Adding a unique layer to the experience, each of these characters can be customized with specialized body augmentations, weapon attachments and enhanced abilities. First Assault also features “SkillSync,” which allows players to leverage shared cyber-abilities with nearby teammates in combat modes to augment and increase their skills. By using SkillSync in smart and tactical ways, teammates can work together in devastating combinations in battle.”

As you can spot from the like to dislike ratio on the YouTube video, a lot of fans are upset about this game due to the fact that it’s taking a beloved license and turning it into what they think will be a mindless shooter. I don’t like to judge games too much until I’ve actually played them, but it actually doesn’t look too bad to me. Then again, I haven’t personally seen the original anime so I have no idea if this is completely different from that. We’ll all find out soon enough!

Sony Reveals PlayStation 4 Has Now Sold Over 30 Million Units

It’s no secret that the PlayStation 4 is absolutely dominating in the console space, but now Sony has a shiny new stat to rub into the collective wounds of the competition. According to them, the PlayStation 4 has now sold 30.2 million units as of November 22nd.

To make matters even better for Sony the Christmas rush is just about to shift into full gear, so they can expect many more units added to that already huge number. There really aren’t any massive new exclusives for the console that will drive sales, but there’s plenty of third-party stuff like Fallout 4 and Just Cause 3 that will definitely make up for it.

It will be interesting to see how things go for Microsoft on the Xbox One side of things, because as far as console exclusives go the Xbox One is looking much stronger with games like Halo 5: Guardians and Rise of the Tomb Raider.

Don’t even get me started on the Wii U.

Ganondorf Wreaks Havoc In The New Hyrule Warriors Legends Trailer

Hyrule Warriors Legends features plenty of good guys to control, but there’s also some baddies thrown into the mix for good measure. For example: this new trailer shows off the series’ most iconic bad guy, Ganondorf, absolutely demolishing everything in his path.

He seems to control very similarly as he did in last year’s Hyrule Warriors for Wii U, being a bit slow but making up for it with a huge attack range and tons of raw power. It might not feel morally right controlling Ganondorf, but once you’ve tasted the power it’s hard to resist!

Hyrule Warriors Legends launches exclusively for the 3DS on March 25th, 2016.

New Witcher 3 Trailer Recaps The Epic Year The Game Had

The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt is without question one of the finest games to release this year, and developer CD Projekt RED has released a new trailer for the game that recounts all of the best moments.

The trailer has a lot to show off, displaying everything from glowing reviews, tons of gameplay from the main game and even footage from the Hearts of Stone expansion and the upcoming Iron and Wine expansion. Here’s a description of the video taken from the YouTube description:

“This year was really epic for the entire crew behind The Witcher. We launched Wild Hunt, the RPG we’ve been working on for so long, then we’ve gone above and beyond to give gamers as many free DLC as we could, and then released Hearts of Stone, which – judging from player feedback – took the game even further. And we innovated all along the way — if you compare Wild Hunt to our previous game, almost every element was improved or changed. Now we’re working on Blood and Wine, the final expansion for Wild Hunt which we will launch in 2016.”

Merry Christmas! Games With Gold December 2015 Offers 5 Free Games

Next month is Christmas, and the folks at Microsoft are feeling mighty generous as they have upped the usual 4 free games for both Xbox One and Xbox 360 to five.

On the Xbox One subscribers will be able to download 2 free games, and they are The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing ($14.99 ERP) and Thief ($29.99 ERP). The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing will be available for the entire month of December, whereas Thief will be available from December 16th to January 15th.

Things get even crazier on the Xbox 360 side of things, as here subscribers will be able to download three free games. From December 1st to December 15th subscribers will be able to download Castlestorm ($9.99 ERP), and then from December 16th to December 31st they’ll be able to download both Sacred 3 ($19.99 ERP) and Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising ($9.99 ERP).

Overall, the quality of the games here isn’t incredible or anything, but the sheer quantity more than makes up for it. There are some pretty solid games here, and even though it feels like we’ve been offered Thief for free a million times now it’s still a game that I want to return to at some point.

Free Fallout 4 Vault 111 Suits Coming To Rock Band 4 Next Month

Fallout 4 is out and everyone absolutely loves it (including myself) and Rock Band 4 developer Harmonix is no different. To show their love of the game and the series in general they have revealed that they are adding Fallout 4 vault 111 suits to Rock Band 4 next month.

The suits will be available as character costumes that your character of choice will be able to wear and look absolutely stylish as you rock ‘n’ roll. To make matters even better, these suits will be available on all platforms and will be added to the game as free DLC that releases on December 8th, 2015.

Enough chitchat, though. Just scroll down and check out the Fallout 4 vault 111 suits in action yourself!

Lightning Returns (AGAIN) In The Latest Dissidia Final Fantasy Trailer

For whatever reason, Final Fantasy XIII‘s Lightning just keeps coming back even though nobody really likes her, and today she is returning again in the latest Dissidia Final Fantasy trailer.

Again, if you’ve seen any of the other trailers then you know what you’re getting into with this one. There’s lots of flying sword fighting going on, while you also get to check out Lightning’s own stage. Much like the game she comes from, it is just a long narrow path with not a whole lot going on in it.

Dissidia Final Fantasy launches in Japanese arcades this week, but there is still no news regarding an eventual release on consoles.
