‘Excitebike Arena’ DLC Course Coming To ‘Mario Kart 8’ Next Month

It’s about to get retro in here!

Next month Mario Kart 8 will be receiving DLC Pack 1, and one of the new courses featured in the pack is none other than Excitebike Arena from the classic Exciteback game. The track features all of the crazy jumps that you may remember from the original game, though obviously viewed through the gorgeous graphics engine of Mario Kart 8. Check out the video showing off this impressive new course below.

To make matters even better (or worse, depending on your style), Nintendo has said that the tracks ramp and boost locations are completely randomized, meaning that no matter how many times you race on this track you will never know what to expect. So gamers, if you’re planning to take the plunge and spend $7.99 next month for DLC Pack 1, make sure you bring your A-game!

New PlayStation 4 Update Lets You Play Your Friends’ Games Free

You can now let your friends play your games online, regardless if they own it or not.

The PlayStation 4 just got a huge new update that comes with a big list of improvements for the system. However, one of the most intriguing new features is the Share Play function, which allows your online gamer friends to watch you play a game and even “hand them” the controller so they can play, too. Share Play does not require the other player to have a copy of the game.

In order to host a Share Play session you must be  PS+ subscriber, though the person you want to play with doesn’t necessarily need to be a subscriber, also. If you just want your friend to spectate your gaming session or want them to take the controls they will not need a PS+ subscription.

The PS+-exclusive Share Play feature is the ability to invite friends to play a game that has local co-op. This doesn’t seem like much at first, but consider a game that doesn’t have a traditional online cooperative component. Share Play will essentially add that huge feature into the game, making it an even sweeter deal.

The one footnote that comes with all of this is that Share Play sessions cap at one hour, in which the session will end. However, you do have the option to start a new one immediately after the last one concludes. This is done as a precaution to prevent gamers from setting up a Share Play session for a friend and then letting them play the entire game without purchasing it.

Telltale Games’ ‘Game Of Thrones’ Series Still Coming This Year

There’s still no new information, but it will premier this year.

There has been absolutely no news in regards to Telltale Games’ upcoming episodic Game of Thrones adventure, though it has now been confirmed that it is still set to premier this year. Telltale’s Community Specialist Laura Perusco said the following on Twitter:

“No specific release date announced yet, but I can confirm that the season IS premiering later this year. :)”

This Game of Thrones adaptation was initially announced at the end of last year, but since then there has been no information on the game’s plot, characters or setting. There have been rumors that it could be set during the fifth book in the series, called A Dance With Dragons, that could potentially coincide with the events with the TV series’ fifth season.

Pokemon Omega Ruby + Alpha Sapphire Bundle Comes With 200 Potions

Get two Pokemon games for the price of… two.

Nintendo has revealed a special bundle for the upcoming Pokemon 3DS games that includes Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire. The bundle will launch on the same date as regular versions will, which is November 21st, and will cost $80. The deal can be purchased in-store through Best Buy, though Amazon will also be carrying the bundle.

Now, both of the games retail individually for $40, so Nintendo is doing something to make this bundle more enticing. It will include two download codes, one for Omega Ruby and the other for Alpha Sapphire, which will contain 100 potions each. This will mean that players will not have to worry about stocking up for healing items early on, though as the games go on the potions become less and less useful as enemies get stronger and more powerful potions become available.

Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire are reimagined versions of the 2003 games Pokemon Ruby And Pokemon Sapphire.

Xbox One Getting A Holiday Season Price Cut

If you haven’t splurged for an Xbox One yet, now is a great time to.

Christmas is just a couple of months away now, which means that the big gaming companies are going to be doing everything they can to get as many consoles under the Christmas trees as possible. Microsoft has revealed that they will be running a new promotion that hacks off $50 of the price of Xbox One, bringing its retail value to $349.99.

They also revealed that they will be releasing a host of Xbox One bundles, which include games like Sunset Overdrive, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Assassin’s Creed: Unity. The $50 off will also apply to these specific console bundles.

This price cut isn’t permanent, however, as a video that shows off all of this neat stuff (which you can view below) reads the following:

“Xbox One will be available starting at $349 with $50 off any Xbox One console or bundle. Offer valid November 2, 2014 through January 3, 2015 at participating retailers with purchase of Xbox One, Xbox One with Kinect, and any special edition Xbox One bundle.”

The Map Editor In ‘Far Cry 4’ Allows Gravity Manipulation

Things are about to get a little crazy in here.

The map editor has been a prominent feature in the Far Cry series for a long time, though it hasn’t ever really been a something to get all that excited about. While you have the freedom to alter things and create your own little maps to run rampant in, the amount of fun that was a result of all that wasn’t much.

However, Far Cry 4 looks to change all of that with one simple things: gravity manipulation. This means that your standard Far Cry antics can now be thrown into the world of low gravity, resulting in floating vehicles and ridiculous verticality. I can only imagine the amount of mayhem that could be a result of this new feature, so here’s to hoping that it delivers on the potential.

Far Cry 4 is developed by Ubisoft Montreal for the PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. It’s set to be released on November 18th, 2014.

‘Outlast 2’ Is In The Works, Features New Characters & Setting

Mount Massive Asyum is taking a back seat, for now.

With the huge success that indie horror game Outlast achieved, it’s no wonder that there have been many questions regarding whether or not a sequel is coming. Well, developer Red Barrels has confirmed in an interview with Bloody Disgusting that more Outlast is definitely on the way.

Red Barrels co-founder Philippe Morin said the following:

“After shipping the XB1 version of Outlast, we took some time to analyze our situation and we quickly realized we had at least another horror game in us. So, yes, we are working on Outlast 2.”

“We might go back to Mount Massive Asylum one day, but for now we have new ideas and themes we’d like to explore and we think we’re cooking up something special.” It is confirmed that Outlast 2 will be taking place in the same universe as the original game.”

“We’re still a small indie studio (12 people), so we’ll need a little bit of time to ship our next game, but hopefully it will be worth it.”

So, it seems it will still be quite a while before actual information or a release date is revealed, but this will certainly put a horrified grin on many a horror gamer’s face.
