Info is starting to come together on where Nintendo is going with their new membership service.
As you probably know, Nintendo is ending their Club Nintendo rewards program this Summer as they are creating a brand new service from the ground up. Now new information has been revealed that sheds a little more light on what this new service will be doing.
During Nintendo’s latest meeting with investors, CEO Satoru Iwata said the following:
“The membership service will encompass multiple devices such as our existing Nintendo 3DS, Wii U, the dedicated game system NX, which is currently under development, smart devices and PCs.”
He goes onto discuss one login for all devices:
“Our members will be able to visit Nintendo’s website and log in with one ID, and they will receive various services including the ones based on their past purchases and gameplay records as well as services that will be an improved version of the current loyalty program.”
This is big news that definitely seems to tie in with their recent plunge into the smartphone market, as a unified service across 3DS, Wii U, PC, smartphones and their upcoming console code-named NX will have a very broad reach.
That classic game that everyone played in the 90’s is coming back very soon.
Remember that one game called Snake that everyone played on their phones back in the 90’s where you had to guide a snake towards pellets without it hitting itself? Well, that game is coming back in a brand new way.
The game’s original creator, Taneli Armanto, has been developing a free-to-play reboot of the classic game that is called Snake Rewind. The basic concept of the original game remains, but now it has a much more flashy look and will contain things like power-ups and score multipliers.
Also, (and probably obviously) you can now rewind to undo a mistake, which is probably something that millions of people wish they could have done back then. The game will launch with 10 unique levels that will all have different challenges included in them.
Snake Rewind is developed by Taneli Armanto for the iOS, Android and Windows Phone and will launch on May 14th, 2015. Check out the announcement video for it below.
