The episodic format is something that gaming developers are embracing more and more these days, as it not only allows them to get games out earlier but also make more money. It looks like Square Enix could be looking to get in on that action with the release of the Final Fantasy VII Remake, as word from the PlayStation Experience reveals it will not release as a single game.
Square Enix has gone on record saying that Final Fantasy VII Remake will release as a multi-part series, with each part being a unique experience. There was no other information beyond that that was revealed, but it’s pretty self-explanatory so I guess it really isn’t needed. I’m hoping it doesn’t mean that the game is essentially going to become Final Fantasy VII Remake: A Telltale Games Series, but who knows these days.
Final Fantasy VII Remake still has no release window, though Final Fantasy XV will be releasing sometime next year.
