Attention: Capcom Has Trademarked Onimusha In Japan For Re-Use

Red alert, everyone! It has been revealed that Capcom has trademarked the classic hack ‘n’ slash action series Onimusha in Japan recently for re-use. The series has been dormant for nearly a decade, but considering Capcom has recently made public their intentions to remaster and bring back some of their older games this is a very good sign for things to come.

The original Onimusha game launched in the year 2000 and the last game in the series launched in 2006, and each was a very solid time. In my opinion, the high point was the third one, which still remains one of my favorite action games to this date.

We’re unsure what exactly this trademark means at this point, but remasters for the original 4 games seems probable. Hopefully, if that does happen and the games sell well it will result in a long-awaited sequel to this beloved series. Bring back Samonosuke if you do, though, Capcom.
