The Halo 5: Guardians Launch Trailer Works Really Well With Muse’s “Knights Of Cydonia”

Halo 5: Guardians

I’m not always crazy about when actual songs are placed in trailer for video games, with the mixture of Led Zeppelin and Destiny’s The Taken King being a recent one that just didn’t gel for me. I friggin’ love Zeppelin, but the tone of the song and the tone that the game had up to that point were two completely different things.

Now, I’m not saying that Muse’s “Knights of Cydonia” is the perfect match for Halo, but given Halo 5: Guardians’ theme of Master Chief “going rogue” it works pretty damn well. It’s also a heck of a lot better than using a song that Muse has made within the last┬áseveral years… *shudders*

The trailer itself is action packed and features a heck of a lot of conflict as Chief turns his back on authority to finish what he has to do, and the overall package is pretty sweet. Things are apparently going to be changing a lot with this game, and I just hope that it can keep the series going strong.

Halo 5: Guardians launches exclusively for the Xbox One on September 27th, 2015.
