It won’t be long before everyone sees gameplay that they will find… most impressive.
EA has revealed that they will share the very first trailer and gameplay footage of their highly-anticipated Star Wars Battlefront on April 17th. It will be shown at a panel during Star Wars Celebration, because there are people out there that are actually *that* into it!
While we aren’t sure exactly what it is the trailer will show us, it is expected that people who attend the event will be seeing a lot more gameplay footage than the trailer will reveal. EA posted the following message on its Star Wars website:
“It has been hard to keep these secrets from the community, but we’re excited to announce that we will be hosting a panel at Celebration on April 17th, kicking off at 10:30AM PT, where we will debut the official reveal trailer for Star Wars Battlefront. Make sure to get to the show early to secure your seat. But that is not all… All attendees will have a chance to see gameplay behind closed doors during the show at our official booth along with a few other activities starting that Friday.”
There’s no question that Star Wars is coming back in full force (thank you, thank you) this year with the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens hitting theaters this December, as well as a ton of books that will bridge the gap between the original trilogy and the new one. Star Wars Battlefront is expected to launch on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this Christmas.
Not the best month for the service, but there are definitely some sweet games for everyone to check out.
Sony has revealed the free games that gamers will be able to download next month as part of the company’s PlayStation Plus service. As always, everyone will be able to download several free games that span the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, ranging from big hits to indie titles.
The selection this month isn’t quite as strong as previous months for the service, but there are definitely some games here that I will be checking out. Check out the list below:
Tower of Guns (PS4/PS3)
Never Alone (PS4)
Aaru’s Awakening (PS4/PS3)
Killzone Mercenary (PS Vita)
MonsterBag (PS Vita)
Dishonored was previously available as a free game via Xbox’s Games With Gold service, though it’s still cool to see that PlayStation-exclusive gamers will be getting it for free, as well. The game was critically-acclaimed when it released a few years ago, though I admittedly missed the boat when it launched.
The PlayStation Vita seems to be the winner of the batch here, as Killzone Mercenary was a very well-received game that undoubtedly plenty of people haven’t tried yet due to the system’s relatively small install base. The system has failed to deliver big name titles like that lately, so playing it will be a welcomed change of pace.
The PlayStation 4’s list of free games is definitely the most tame, though Never Alone is an indie game that caught my eye a few months ago and I have been interested in checking it out since then. It’s a 2D puzzle platformer that is set in the arctic that looks pretty unique, though the reviews for it were pretty mixed when it launched last year. Ah well, I guess I’ll just have to make my own opinion when I try it out!
3 new Assassin’s Creed adventures will release this year that offer a distinct departure from the main series.
Ubisoft has revealed that Assassin’s Creed Chronicles will be an episodic trilogy that will begin with Assassin’s Creed: China. The game is set to release digitally next month, with the following two episodes called Assassin’s Creed: India and Assassin’s Creed: Russia set to release by the Fall.
These episodic games are being developed by Ubisoft Montreal in collaboration with Climax Studios, who are most known for making Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. The games will feature 2.5d stealth missions that will definitely be a departure from the main series of games.
Ubisoft said the following regarding the games:
“Assassin’s Creed Chronicles take players to three distinct civilizations and periods throughout history including the Ming dynasty at the start of its downfall, the Sikh Empire as it prepares for war in India, and the aftermath of the Red October revolution. Designed for masters of stealth who share a passion for rewriting history with games, Assassin’s Creed Chronicles let players embody Assassins Shao Jun, Arbaaz Mir, and Nikolaï Orelov in a 2.5D reimagining of the Assassin’s Creed universe. Slay from the shadows, in a collection of stunning, living paintings.”

Tomorrow we will get updates on 3DS and Wii U. Yay!
Nintendo has revealed that they will be airing a brand new Nintendo Direct show tomorrow on April Fool’s Day at 11 PM BST. It was revealed in a tweet that didn’t say anything else other than that there will be updates for 3DS and Wii U owners.
The timing of this Nintendo Direct is interesting considering that E3 is just a couple of months away, but seeing as the company isn’t as reliant on the event to relay big information anymore who knows what they’ll reveal? Hopefully something great because the delay of Zelda Wii U is still stinging.
As for me, while I don’t think anything major will be shown of it during the show, I would love to see some footage of the new Star Fox game. They said that it would be released before Zelda Wii U, and now that that game has been likely pushed into 2016 they could really give this game a push now.
The game will launch this Fall, barring any unfortunate delays.
New ads for Ubisoft’s upcoming shooter Rainbow Six Siege have confirmed that the game will be launching this Fall.
Although the game is still a ways off, an alpha is expected to arrive soon on PC to tide everyone over. A closed beta test will follow after that and will be available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Last night gamers were treated to new information regarding the game, such as the lineup of playable characters and even the Art of Siege collector’s edition.
Ever wanted to dropkick a zombie hundreds of feet? Well I have!
April Fool’s Day is tomorrow and that means that you can expect a bevy of lies and deception around every stinkin’ corner. However, some developers are using this opportunity to do something really silly instead, such as Dying Light‘s Techland letting you drop kick zombies hundreds of feet.
Tomorrow all players of Dying Light will be shipped a “bad batch” of Antizin, which is medication that is normally used to fight off the zombie disease. This batch of Antizin, however, will allow you to punch, kick and smack around all zombies with ease and send them flying in hilarious fashion.
A spokesperson for the game’s Global Relief Effort says the following concerning this Antizin:
“All undelivered Antizin crates have been destroyed, and we would like to assure the survivors that untainted drops will resume as of April 2nd. We urge all the survivors to use extreme care when exhibiting symptoms of the contaminated Antizin injections.”
Check out a glimpse of the mayhem that will be at your fingertips tomorrow via the brief video below.
Check out what’s in store for the upcoming Rainbow Six Siege alpha.
Ubisoft has revealed that they are planning to stream the upcoming alpha of Rainbow Six Siege today.
The stream is set to begin at 2 PM Eastern Time, with the stream itself set to show off some of the content included in the PC alpha. You can check out the stream below when it goes live, but if you can’t make it the stream will be archived and uploaded on YouTube.
The official date for the launch of the alpha has yet to be revealed, but due to the event of this stream and recent leaked footage it could certainly be arriving very soon. An alpha for consoles is also planned to launch at some point later in the year.
