If Fire Emblem: Awakening didn’t sell over 250,000 copies, the series likely would have been cancelled. PHEW!
If the current Fire Emblem game, Fire Emblem: Awakening, didn’t sell over 250,000 copies, the series likely would have been cancelled.
This was revealed in an interview in the magazine Hobby Consola, which was posted in the Serene Forest forums. It was said that developer Intelligent Systems was told by Nintendo that, due to the diminishing sales of the franchise, if this game did not perform well than they would end to the series. The Fire Emblem series is over 22 years old.
“No doubt. Truth be told, sales are dropping,” said Yamagami. “The sales manager of Nintendo, Mr. Hatano, told us that this could be the last Fire Emblem. Due to this progressive descend on sales, they told us that if the sales of this episode stayed below 250,000 copies, we’d stop working on the saga.”
Luckily, the new Fire Emblem game got rave reviews, which resulted in the gaming already selling over 250,000 copies in North America, alone. There have been no announcements about a follow-up to this game, but one can assume that the universal acclaim the game has received has put the series in a good position to continue.
Even though I never became a huge Fire Emblem fan, I’m still glad to hear that it looks like it wont be cancelled. The series has been around for a long time, and it would have been really sad to see such a big and loved franchise come to an end. It technically still could come to an end, but I doubt it with how this new game has been received.
Fire Emblem fans rejoice!

… because there weren’t two systems before this one or anything!
Finally, after months of speculation, the successor to the Xbox 360 has a name: Xbox One. Don Mattrick made the announcement at the Xbox reveal event today in Redmond, Washington. That’s the new system, pictured above.
The system includes 8GB of RAM, an 8-Core CPU, a 500GB hard drive, a Blu-ray drive, HDMI in and out ports, USB 3.0, 802.11n wireless, and more. The Kinect sensor has also been greatly improved, and will be included with the system. Continue reading “The New Xbox Called ‘Xbox One’”

Luigi is taking the spotlight.
An announcement was made during the latest Nintendo Direct episode saying that a Luigi-themed New Super Mario Bros. U, called New Super Luigi U, is coming soon. The game will be available to download from the Wii U eShop on June 20 for $20, and the retail release date is August 25 for $30. You will not need New Super Mario Bros. U to play this new game. Those F***ING pigs! The most popular paid app of all time, Angry Birds, is being adapted to the big screen and now has an official release date of July 1, 2016. I guess those birds will have a long time to wait before they can get revenge on those freakin’ pigs.
I hate those freakin’ pigs. Once I started playing this game I quickly became addicted and wanted to kill every green obnoxious pig on the screen. When you fail a level and you listen to those pigs laugh at your suckness… well… I’ll just say it invokes some serious emotions…
Sony Pictures now has exclusive worldwide distribution rights to the film. It’s a no-brainer to adapt this into a movie because the game is so amazingly popular, but the game is very simple and I’m not so sure it warrants a movie. Hopefully they get someone who can come up with a cool story that turns the concept of flinging birds at pigs into an interesting story.
I mean, I’ll probably just see it so I can see some pigs die. I hate those freakin’ pigs. Did I mention that yet?
Lock your doors, bar your windows, hide your cheesecake and close your eyes, because Sony has just announced that Gran Turismo 6 is not only real, but it is coming for you this Christmas season. This means that you will be driving around in souped up sleighs with reindeers that have jet engines attached to their antlers and Santa will be aiming to break his time record for delivering all of the presents to the little boys and girls and cucumbers. That game actually sounds sweet, but I don’t think they will be using my idea. Continue reading “‘Gran Turismo 6’ Is Coming For You…”
